Thoughts at the End of the Semester

I finished my last final for this semester just over an hour ago! Yay me! This semester has been really different from other semesters. Last week was one of the craziest weeks I have ever had in my life. My roommates and I were all over the place all the time. One night I was up until 3:00 am working on an essay, the next night I was up until 5:00 am finishing it. I'm glad that's over. Finals almost seemed like a breeze compared to last week. Hopefully I still have good grades in all my classes, mostly English! That class was invented by Satan. The teacher wasn't Satan--of course not--but the theories and literature were invented by Satan. If I am ever asked to read M Butterfly again, I will promptly pull out a lighter (provided I have one) and burn it. Hand me a packet about Post-structuralism and it's going out the window.
So now I wonder, how is it possible that my English teacher never wore the same thing twice throughout the whole semester? Not once. She never even wore the same pairs of shoes or earrings. And every outfit was completely different from the day before. How did she do that?!
When did my history professor first start wearing suspenders? Do they really hold your pants up? Maybe I should get some. How many pairs does he have? Or does he just use the same ones everyday? Maybe I should get him a bedazzled set for special occasions.
Where does all my biology professor come up with all his great jokes? Today's best joke: "Tiger Woods just announced that he plans to change his name to 'Cheetah Woods.'" HaHaHa
How did my community mates get through the whole semester while watching Hannah Montana and 90210? Not only are the shows just plain awful to watch, they still got all their homework done. How did they do it?
Lora loves to pop her gum. Loves it. She pops it while she does her homework, she pops it while she's watching her shows, and she pops it in the shower. Strangely enough, it doesn't bother me at all. It's just something I've noticed.
Why do little boys shoot you in the eye with their dart guns even when you tell them not to? Perhaps they just do not want to be discouraged.
Sometimes Marisa sleeps completely straight and it doesn't even look like she's in her bed. How does she do that? I also think I'm developing an extra supernatural sense when it comes to Marisa. One morning, I thought she had slept through a class, so I kind of panicked. Turns out that was class was the following day. Do you know what happened? She slept through the class the next day. Also, I had a feeling that Marisa might have forgotten her keys when I was leaving for lunch. When I got back, she had forgotten her keys. Maybe those are just coincidences?
All in all despite all the quirks and bumps along the way,
the semester was a success.

The Jenkins

It is nearing finals week, and honestly, this last week has been crazier than I expect finals week to be. Why do teachers do that? I have gotten approximately eight hours of sleep in the past two days. But it will all be better before I'm married right? Two of my highly respected friends wrote this last semester before they went on their missions. It's about an extremely dangerous epidemic spreading across campuses nationwide: The Jenkins.

Quirks

I was over at Kimberly and Emmett's eating a lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and broccoli noodles at 5:30, and we were talking about the quirks that some people have. We were laughing about all the silly things that we have noticed about some of the people we know, and it made me think.
What kind of quirks do I have?
I asked my brother-in-law Emmett what he thought because I knew he would be completely honest but wouldn't make me feel like I was "hopelessly flawed." He said that I'm a really quiet person, and I don't really talk much. That was a surprise to me because sometimes I feel like you can't get me to shut up. I feel like I'm the type of person that feels like they have to have the last word in every conversation. Hmmm....And just last night, my roommate and best friend told me that I don't talk very much too. Which is weird because I tell her absolutely everything.
I guess I just wonder how I come across to people. Not that I'm worried about what others think about me all the time. I just wonder. So I came up with a list of quirks that I know I have. I like lists. That's a quirk.
20. I am INCREDIBLY impatient.

19. I have always had a very organized way of doing the dishes. I usually do not like others to help me do the dishes even when they are trying to be helpful because it throws off my “system.”

18. I love to be organized. Some of my favorite things are office supplies--as I've mentioned before--because everything is about organization. I love organizing and helping others clean and organize. Maybe I’ll make a career out of it.

17. I love staying up late. I get some of my best ideas at night. I love to read and write before I fall asleep. I also love to get up early and just start off the day as soon as I can. These two often compete with one another causing a rather ridiculous lack of sleep even though I love sleep as well.

16. I cannot stand to wear nail polish. I think it looks nice on others, but my nails don’t like to be suffocated. I also have to have short nails. Long nails on others drive me crazy (mostly fake nails). Especially when they scratch their skin, or tap on things.

15. I do not like the way cotton balls feel.

14. I can spend hours organizing my itunes.

13. The clothes in my closet are organized by color.

12. I love to lotion my hands but I hate to lotion any other part of my body. Resulting in very nice soft hands, but a very dry Kelly.

11. I think horses are the most beautiful animals in this world, but I will not ride them.

10. I love to read, but I am not a very fast reader. It took me over six months to read Les Miserables even though I loved the book immensely. Well I wasn’t reading it everyday, so maybe that doesn’t count.

9. I don’t like it when there are stray marks on my papers. People (i.e. Jacob Duthie and Jordan Udall) enjoy scribbling on my papers just because they know it bugs me.

8. It bothers me when people sing (or play the guitar) all the time, even when they have good voices (or can play well). Give it a rest! I sing all the time though. He He

7. Daisies and tulips are my favorite flowers. I do not like red roses. They’re too generic.

6. My bed has to be made before I sleep in it. If it’s not made before I go to bed I will usually make it and then get it to sleep.

5. I am very opinionated, but the most indecisive person in the world.

4. I can spend hours in stores and come out without having bought a thing.

3. I hate spending money. I like having money so if I ever did want to spend it, I could.
2. I am easily frustrated when I practice the piano or any other instrument. My practice sessions usually don’t last very long.

1. I do not like pulp in my orange juice. If I wanted pulp, I would have asked for an orange. (Orange juice=happy juice!)

Christmas Playlist

All I want to say is Merry Christmas! Yes, it is only December 4th, but I love saying so I want to say it as much as I can until I absolutely have to stop. I love saying it and I love hearing the way it sounds.
Merry Christmas!
I don't really have much time to say anything right now, but I did just finish decorating my blog (as well as I could) for the Christmas season, and I did create a Christmas playlist. Yay me! If I was you, I would sit there and have my blog open so you can hear some of my very favorite Christmas songs (I'm going to keep adding to it because I'm not satisfied with only a few songs), while you browse around the rest of the web or do whatever it is you do on your computer. Don't you just love Christmas? I do. I love Christmas. I love winter. I love sweaters and coats and cute scarfs and gloves. I love hot cocoa with candy canes. I love that this semester is nearly over and I can go home and be with my family. I love the reason we celebrate Christmas!
